Making software is a sticky, messy and challenging endeavor, with many different factions that want different things. Those wants and needs will bring up controversies and differences of opinion, differences in approach, and differences in desired outcomes. Whenever that happens, there will be politics. so as testers focus less on individuals and details but more on the results and objectives. Let the data do the speaking for you, measure the process and the outcomes. This will reduce the political barriers and anecdotal opinions.
