STAG Software is planning to launch a fault management tool
in a bid to offer a comprehensive defect prevention system for
software testing. The company is currently offering consultancy,
educational and test engineering services.
While there are defect tracking tools in the market already,
stag – software test analysis group – is trying
to build analytical capability on top of basic fault detection,
according to Mr.T.Ashok Managing Director, STAG Software.
It is also in the process of developing other tools that allow
the generation of test cases.
STAG Software works with company to build testing competencies,
implement and automate test execution development strategies,
Mr.Ashok said.
“We want to provide value added work where, in addition
to consulting, education and tools, you also engineer test cases
scientifically,” he added.
With greater realization of the need for adequate test cases
and testing having become a necessary growth competency, stag
sees greater demand for its offerings.
“But it is still a while before it becomes a real engineering
service. There are pragmatic methods to make testing effective.”
STAG will develop techniques and methods to deploy in e-commerce,
telecom and other sectors, according to the Managing Director.
“ We have developed products for the price conscious
Indian market and are trying to develop a framework that includes
techniques, tools and methods.”
The company, which started operations last May has projected
revenues of Rs.2 Crore for the year. Of this STAG is looking
to achieve about 40 percent from the engineering services, which
is currently a marginal contributor.
