In addition, many new software product companies are setting up labs in India. Even though these companies realize that testing is vital to product delivery, the challenge these companies face is finding the right talent. The expectation of these companies from the people has been rapidly rising over the years. Currently the companies expect you to have a reasonable understanding of the technology, in addition to good knowledge of testing techniques/process/tools, and expect you to be productive from Day One!

However, getting people with a sound knowledge of testing is a broader and more important issue for the industry right now. Further, the available talent is limited as a majority of them has only a theoretical testing knowledge and lack practical exposure.

Software Test Engineering Professional (STEP) Program

STEP is a unique result-oriented program, perhaps the first of its kind in India. The curriculum has been specifically designed to develop the talent required to meet industry needs. It is a combination of classroom-based learning of core concepts of testing - techniques, technology, and tool - and hands-on exposure to applications of testing. The prime value proposition of the STEP program is internship at STAG. Internship helps you:

Objectives of the program

The key objective is to help you become productive professional test engineer from Day One. The classroom sessions aim to lay strong foundation in test engineering techniques, familiarize you with necessary technology and acclimatize with good script writing skills for functional test automation. The internship provides exposure to real organizational environment and enriches your experience in testing software applications.

At the end of program,you will:

Internship

At the end of eight weeks of classroom sessions, you will undergo internship for a period of eight weeks. During internship, you gain supervised practical experience on testing applications under a STAG designated mentor. You will work very closely with the mentor on all assignments and reporting. At the end of four weeks into internship, there will be an assessment /evaluation. This helps to identify gaps and areas to improve. You will then have to work towards resolving such gaps in the following four weeks of internship.

Our placement cell guarantees job to all participants who meet the merit criteria. We have placement tie-ups with IT companies who prefer to recruit STAG trained test engineers for entry level positions on regular basis.

Target audience:

Those aspiring to be software test engineers. Candidates with a first class degree in engineering or post graduation are preferred.

Admission:

Candidates will have to undergo a screening test of one-hour duration, which will comprise logical reasoning, arithmetic reasoning and written communication and score minimum 60%.
