1. Do you
provide any training on Tools (like Winrunner,
Loadrunner, TestDirector, SilkTest, etc.)?
Ans. We provide training on Tools like
JCover, JMeter, FMAS (Tool developed by STAG).
Further, we do provide training on IBM Rational
Functional Tester tool also. We help candidates
gain knowledge in fundamentals of Automation, and
exposure to above tools. This will help them better
in their career. Learning Testing is akin to learning
driving. You cannot drive a car, just by knowing
how to use an automatic gear. You need to drive
the car before you learn the automation part. This
we strongly believe in.
|
|
2. Do you provide
any domain specific training?
Ans. We believe that testing fundamentals
remain same for all domains.
|
|
3. Do we get any testing
exposure on live Projects?
Ans. Participants
will get to work on
a realistic project,
in PCSTEplus program.
However, we do provide
internship for a period
of 8 weeks in STEP
program. During internship,
you are exposed to
real organizational
environment and work
under a mentor. Internship
prepares you as market-ready
professional software
test engineer.
|
|
4. What is the difference
between PCSTEplus and STEP program?
Ans. Both the programs help
you gain sound understanding in software test
engineering concepts and functional test automation.
In PCSTEplus, you are exposed to technology
of application environment; however, this is
covered in little more depth in STEP program.
Further, there is internship in STEP program
that makes a fully developed software test
engineer. If you are already working or worked
as tester with no formal knowledge in software
testing, PCSTEplus would enable you to gain
formal understanding of software test engineering
to help you contribute more productively. However,
if you were a fresher and aspiring to be software
test engineer then STEP program would be more
suitable for you.
|
|
5. Whether STAG undertakes
any development projects?
Ans. STAG
is a focused software
test engineering organization.
We do not undertake
any application development
projects.
|
|
6. Is there a crash
course?
Ans. We do not believe in
any short cut to testing. We do conduct public
workshops on specific subjects, which are of
2/3 days duration. People interested can register
themselves for these courses, we will inform
them as, and when the next public workshop
is fixed.
|
|
7. Are there any Weekend
Batches available?
Ans. Yes,
we do have weekend
batches for functional
test automation program,
as for other programs,
depending on the demand
we shall consider.
|
|
8. Why is your program
fee high?
Ans. We
are not a training
institute. We are a
testing company sharing
our knowledge on testing
with aspiring test
engineers. What we
teach is practical
approach to testing
and not just theory
available in books.
The test engineering
concepts are taught
by senior faculty with
over 20+ years of experience
in the IT industry.
Further, our curriculum
is designed to help
you gain skills as
desired by the industry.
We help you prepare
to be market-ready
with higher possibility
of getting job.
|
|
9. Is there any discount
on the course fee?
Ans. At
times, we do come out
with special offer
schemes. This will
be suitably notified
to public. However,
for group enrollment
of more than three
participants we do
provide special consideration
in discounted price.
Please check with our
office
|
|
10. Can one participant
use one machine?
Ans. We
believe in team building
exercise and feel that
making the students
to share the computer
with another person
ensures that they also
learn to interact and
communicate.
|
|
11. Can I work for
extra hours in lab?
Ans. Yes,
participants may use
our lab when others
are not using it, as
long as it is within
STAG's official working
hours.
|
|
12. What placement
assistance and assurance STAG provides?
Ans. As
far as placement assistance
is concerned, we do
provide assistance
by arranging two-employer
interview for STEP
program participants.
However, conditions
apply. As for other
programs, we do provide
assistance by referring
prospective employers
to meet up with our
students. We do not
provide any job assurance,
as we believe individuals
with proper attitude
and aptitude would
be able to get jobs
on their own merit.
|
|
13. What will be
the Job opportunity outside/inside STAG?
Ans. Industry
needs qualified software
engineers and there
is a growing demand
for right talent. Our
program focuses in
enriching the participant
with the right balance
of test knowledge and
skills desired by companies.
Thereby the participant
stands better chance
of being employed by
a company. Whenever
there is need for software
test engineers at STAG,
we do first look at
the profiles of the
students passed out.
We do call the candidate
for an interview.
|
|
14. What are the
chances of acquiring a job in software field
for Diploma, B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Pharm, and Biotechnology,
B.E. (Civil, Mech., Chemical, Instrumentation,
and Industrial Production)?
Ans. Though we at STAG would not like
to discriminate people with such academic background,
the industry in general dictates the desired academic
background for a tester. There is a severe shortage
of quality testers in the market currently. Various
articles have appeared on this in newspapers. Demand
for skilled testers are aplenty, if a candidate
has an attitude and aptitude towards testing, he/she
will be a perfect fit for any organization seeking
testers. However, it is preferred if candidates
have some basic knowledge of programming languages
like C and C++.
|
|
15. What is the Knowledge/experience
of the faculties involved?
Ans. Our faculties are practicing professionals.
Have rich experience & knowledge in the field
of software test engineering. They have over 20+
years of IT Experience, out of which they have
devoted 10 years in the field of software test
engineering. We have trained over 4000+ test engineers.
|
|
16. Will experience
certificate provided upon completion of the
course?
Ans. We are an ethical company and we
will do our best, which are ethical, to help our
students.
|
|
17. Is there any
P.G. Accommodation for outstation students?
Ans. There
are lots of P.G. accommodations
available in and around
our office premises.
We can help you with
details of what we
know but we encourage
you to check with the
locals, as you can
find out the details
that you are looking
for directly.
